Why He's the Liberal Scumbag of the Week: for rushing to blame President Trump for this past week's Capital Gazette shooting and tweeting a picture of a “Make America Great Again” hat, stating that the shooter had dropped the cap on the floor of the newsroom before murdering five people and injuring two others.
A deliberate stunt that can easily be categorized under 'Fake News', once the real story came out that the shooter had held a long-standing, personal grudge against the newspaper dating back 6 years, after receiving a shitload of backlash, the a-hole that is Conor Berry had no choice but to apologize and resign:
A reporter at the Springfield newspaper The Republican abruptly resigned Friday after putting out a sarcastic tweet suggesting the alleged gunman who fatally shot five people inside the office of an Annapolis, Maryland, newspaper left a Donald Trump hat at the crime scene.
The reporter, Conor Berry, apologized for the since-deleted tweet in a follow-up message posted to his Twitter feed on Friday.
“Folks, My 21-year career as a ‘journalist,’ a fancy term that makes my skin crawl, frankly, came to a screeching halt yesterday with one stupid, regrettable tweet,” Berry wrote. “Can’t take it back; wish I could. My sincere apologies to all good, hardworking reporters and to POTUS supporters.”For taking advantage of a tragedy and letting his Trump Derangement Syndrome get the best of him, Berry shouldn't have just resigned, but he should never be allowed to work for a quality news publication again. The guy is a lying scumbag and his journalistic integrity is completely shot.
