The flyer superimposes images of Gillespie and President Donald Trump over white supremacists on the march in Charlottesville.
This smear, is yet another attempt by the Left to politicize the tragedy that occurred in Charlottesville a few months back at a local rally that led to melee's that in turn ended up getting protester Heather Heyer killed.
The Virginia gubernatorial race, which has become very contentious and has received a ton of national attention as a possible barometer for next year's midterm elections, has been used by the liberal media time and time again in their dire hope to see a Democrat win a major election in the Trump era. However, two local newspapers weren't having any of Northam's sordid attempt to pain Gillespie as a racist.

As the Virginia gubernatorial race enters its final days, the Democrats appear to be getting nervous. There may be something in their internal polling showing that Republican candidate Ed Gillespie could win because they’re pushing this absurd and borderline libelous mailer linking him to white nationalism. Virginia’s newspapers have voiced their opinions on the matter, noting that Gillespie issued a strongly worded response to this protest, and that he’s done everything right when confronted by this horrific event.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch, which later endorsed Gillespie, slammed Virginia Democrats, calling the mailer “practically libel.” Now, The Daily Progress, a Charlottesville-based paper, is ripping Virginia Democrats for using their pain to score political points. They described the tactics of Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam, the Democratic candidate, and his campaign as “stomach-turning” (via Daily Progress) [emphasis mine]:
…the Northam campaign issuing a deliberately provocative mailer, trying to smear Republican Ed Gillespie. This one hits very close to home, because it politicizes the Charlottesville tragedy of Aug. 11-12.
Not that the issue hasn’t already been politicized. And that’s part of the problem, part of the reason we’re having such difficulty coming to rational conclusions about the community’s failures before, during and after the white supremacist invasion.
We don’t need state candidates trying to use our pain to their political advantage. The mailer features a photo of the Charlottesville Tiki-torch marchers, and condemns Mr. Gillespie for not speaking out against President Trump’s now infamous “good people on both sides” comment made on Aug. 12. Mr. Gillespie did, however, denounce the white supremacists — before the rally ever took place. […] …the Northam campaign wants to do everything it can to tie Mr. Gillespie to the unpopular president.
And that’s because the race is so close; the Democrats want to grab every advantage they can scramble for, even if it means political exploitation of the Charlottesville tragedy. […] For his opponent to challenge him on the degree to which he endorses the Trump agenda is fair game. But to take the tragedy of Charlottesville and exploit it for political advantage is stomach-turning.

During the briefing Kelly took on the false charge that Trump “lied” when he said recent presidents did not always make condolence calls to the next of kin. He also commended the president for making condolence calls and described in painful detail the meticulous process of getting a fallen American off the battlefield and home for burial, something the media only cares about when its spreading its anti-Trump propaganda.
Finally, Kelly took on "wacky" Democrat Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, the latest tool in the Left's "Resistance" movement set out to destroy Trump's agenda. He accused Kelly of framing the "sacred" call President's make ti the families of fallen soldiers in a way to make Trump bad, when Trump was only following the advice of Kelly, himself a Gold Star father. Kelly framed the controversy as a new low, with Wilson going after Trump when the president was trying to do the decent thing.

Wilson, a self-righteous, longtime Trump-hater with a voting record of not supporting our troops, went on #FakeNewsCNN to make her baseless claim that the President was not emphatic toward's Johnson's pregnant wife because he told her that he “knew what he signed up for.” And tho Wilson herself admitted to not hearing the entire phone call, she still told the media that she wanted to get on the phone and "curse" Trump out for his lack of proper condolences. Trump's context, that Lt. Johnson was a proud soldier who knew the risk of being on the battlefield, was totally ignored by the anti-Trump media who took Wilson's version of what happened without any vetting. Chief of Staff John Kelly, a 'hero' to the Left only a week ago, for supposedly being the only person in the White House who could 'control' Trump, was also given shade by Wilson and the msm, even accused of being a racist (because, of course) and misogynist for daring ti defend the words Trump used in the phone call--thoughts that Kelly himself told Trump to use, being a former serviceman and Gold Star father.
And don't believe what the msm tells you. The whole point of the liberal media asking why the President was taking so long to acknowledge on Twitter something about the 4 soldiers killed in Niger, was to set him up. They were fishing for a scandal, a Benghazi-like scandal to be exact, to use against the Trump administration. Self-described "rock star" Wilson, who CNN would never note, has been on the anti-Trump crusade from jump. She called for his impeachment, without any valid reason, several months ago. She refused to go to his inauguration. And you can't just have Maxine Waters out there as the only black Congresswoman on the 'Destroy Trump' bandwagon. You need to rep the East coast too. They already got the South what with Texas Rep. Al Green, so don't be surprised if the next black Dem pol hopping on the 'white supremacist', anti-Trump bandwagon comes from the North. And no, they're not 'crazy' as too many conservatives like to scream. they know exactly what they're doing; th emore you call Trump a racist, the more you hope and pray for better black voter turnout in the midterms come 2018 and the next presidential election in 2020.
That's why Trump needs a point person, someone of color, to fight back against the race card propaganda from the Black "woke" crowd and their friends in the media. And no, it's not the oft-vile and antagonistic Omarosa. Instead, someone more calm, cool and collected with a fact-checker at hand. Hire a Star Parker or Wayne DuPree or Alveda King as an advisor and get them out there to speak on Trump's behalf whenever these racial matters come up--which they will for the entire duration of Trump's presidency.

Why He's the Liberal Scumbag of the Week: this one is pretty easy, what with all the alleged sexual harassment and predatory behavior for the last 30 years that's come out about this creep this past week. Weinstein made great, powerful movies, donated money to many Democrat politicians and became a powerful man within Hollywood circles, but why did it take so long for all his lewdness to come to light? Was it that Weinstein political contributions outweighed protecting women's rights? Or was it that everyone in morally bankrupt, liberal Hollyweird knew what was going on, but didn't have the balls to say anything until a New Yorker article exposed him? Or was it because actor Corey Feldman, who spoke out on Hollywood's pedophile problem years ago (and got mocked for it) wasn't high enough on the food chain for anyone to believe him?
Whatever the reason, people in Hollyweird knew about Weinsteain and for the most part, they chose to stay quiet about it. Liberal pols too like Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama who accepted tons of money from Weinstein, partied with the creep and called him a 'friend', but chose to stay silent for days after the allegations surfaced. And now, under immense pressure from the public, Democrat pols are lining up to give away Weinstein's coins. Yunno, the same one's who are quick to call out President Trump's past shenanigans.
Still, Weinstein's been fired from his company in disgrace, axed by the Academy, his wife's divorcing him and there's even rape (and a host of other) allegations that he'll have to deal with. His life as he knew it is now over, there's just no excuse that it took so long.

But the faux 'outrage' from the Left towards Newton won't be half the same towards Rodrique because the life of being black in America means being on the back of the line when comes to identity politics.
