Marc Short Takes Down CNN's John Berman Attempts To Politicize John McCain's Death In Order To Bash President Trump

Short's absolutely right. If the President had said something nice and flowery about John McCain, CNN would have bashed him anyway, either claiming that someone gave Trump the words to use and/or bringing up Trump's past disses of McCain, In other words, it was a clear no-win here no matter what Trump did. Berman even had the audacity to question Short's integrity by asking if he was allowed to say anything negative about Trump.

Roger Kimball Quote of the Day!

"Think about it: Trump has actually governed not as a tyrant but as an energetic democrat. Under his watch, the economy is booming, unemployment is at historic lows, consumer confidence is skyrocketing. He has made scores of enlightened judicial appointments and is on the threshold of rescuing the Supreme Court from its long flirtation with with radical jurisprudence. He has taken major steps to rebuild our military, roll back the regulatory state, and reassert the prestige of the United States on the world stage.

I suspect that, come 2024, when President Trump completes his second successful term, Americans will indeed look back, but to the election of Barack Obama and the prospect of a second President Clinton in 2016. They will then wonder how they could have been so misguided as to have elected a naive, anti-American race-hustler like Barack Obama not once but twice, and they will thank their lucky stars that they dodged the bullet of a Hillary Clinton administration, which would have completed the anti-freedom agenda of the deep state and assured generations of economic lassitude and dependency."

Dr. Christina Greer: Liberal Scumbag of the Week

Claim to Fame: Political science professor at Fordham University in New York City

Why She's The Liberal Scumbag of the Week: for her ignorant and insensitive comment concerning the death of Mollie Tibbetts this week. While appearing on far-Left, anti-Trump network MSNBC this past week, Greer accused FOX News of spending too much time on the death of 'a girl from Iowa' who had been murdered by an illegal immigrant.

An angry Greer also slammed Fox for prioritizing coverage of Tibbetts death over the guilty verdicts of President Trump allies Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen. However, after receiving a boatload of backlash on Twitter, Greer would later offer a weak apology, saying: 'Yesterday I said something flippant that was unintended. Mollie Tibbets was a promising young woman who lost her life. My hope is that her family will find peace & justice and that her murder is not used to justify a discriminatory immigration policy.'

Tibbetts was found dead on August 21, five weeks after she was abducted by Mexican illegal immigrant Cristhian Rivera, 24. He attacked her while she was out jogging then dumped her body in a cornfield.

Ironically, due to the outrage she's received for her despicable comments, Greer has since deleted her Twitter account.

Michael Goodwin Quote of the Day!

"I agree that Trump is wrong to call the media the “enemy of the people” and wish he would stick to less inflammatory words. His favorite charge of “fake news” makes his point well enough without any hint that he favors retribution on individual journalists.

But I am also concerned that media leaders refuse to see their destructive role in the war with the president. Few show any remorse over how the relentlessly hostile coverage of Trump is damaging the nation and changing journalism for the worse.

One obvious consequence is increased political polarization, with many media outlets making it their mission to denounce Trump from first page to last, day in and day out. Studies show 90 percent of TV news coverage is negative and the Times, Washington Post and CNN, among others, appear addicted to Trump hatred as if it is a narcotic.

This lack of balance permits little or no coverage of any of his achievements. How many people, for example, know about the employment records shattered by the jobs boom unleashed by Trump’s policies?"

Senator Richard Burr: Person of the Week

Claim to Fame: senior United States Senator from North Carolina, serving since 2005

Why He's the Person of the Week: for coming out strongly in defense of President Trump's decision to revoke former CIA director/political hack/resident MSNBC Trump-hater John Brennan's security clearance.

In a statement, the Senator, who's also the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, cited a New York Times op-ed published Thursday, after Brennan’s security was revoked, in which Brennan wrote that Trump’s claims of no collusion were "hogwash," saying the only remaining questions were whether the collusion amounted to a criminal conspiracy and whether the Trump team obstructed justice in order to cover up the collusion Brennan alleged.

Burr said that if in fact Brennan had information that proved the Trump campaign colluded with a foreign power, he should have provided that information to special counsel Robert Mueller, rather than writing about it in a newspaper.

Burr also asked that if Brennan had had direct knowledge of collusion during his CIA tenure, he should have included it in the intelligence community’s 2017 assessment of Russian interference, released just before Brennan resigned. If Brennan learned information after he left office, Burr said it would constitute an intelligence breach.

"If, however, Director Brennan’s statement is purely political and based on conjecture, the president has full authority to revoke his security clearance as head of the Executive Branch," Burr’s statement continued.

Yesterday, Brennan, who despite having a gig on MSNBC and a prominent Twitter profile, continues to make the ridiculous claim that Trump is trying to 'silence' him, walked back his insipid comment that Trump had committed 'treason' during his recent press conference with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Bettie Cook Scott: Liberal Scumbag of the Week

Claim to Fame: Michigan House of Representatives from the 2nd district

Why She's the Liberal Scumbag of the Week: for making racially-insensitive comments against her Asian-American opponent Rep. Stephanie Chang before the Democrat primary election for state Sen. District 1.

Called out by more than a dozen local community groups, Scott was forced to apologize after allegedly referring to Chang as "ching-chang" and "the ching-chong" to multiple voters outside polling precincts during last Tuesday's election. Scott was also said to have called one of Chang's campaign volunteers an “immigrant,” saying “you don’t belong here” and “I want you out of my country.”

"These comments are offensive to all Asian-Americans," said Chang. "It isn't about me. It's about an elected official disrespecting entire populations, whether they be Asian-American, immigrant, or residents of Sen. District 1 or [Cook's] own current house district."

However, in a sweet case of karma coming back to bite someone's ass, Chang would win the election with 49 percent of the vote while Scott came in third with only 11 percent of the vote.
