Is It A Hate Crime To Support Donald Trump On Campus?

DailyCaller.com:
Emory University students are under dire threat after something incredibly disturbing happened on campus this week.
No, it wasn’t the revelation that a serial killer was stalking the campus, nor was it news breaking of a deadly virus being passed among classmates.
It was something far more terrifying — pro-Donald Trump chalk markings were found at multiple sites on campus.
After witnessing the horrific message, several students now feel “unsafe” on campus and Emory’s student government has declared “emergency” measures will be enacted to deal with the crisis.
In response to students demanding the school formally denounce Trump, Emory President James Wagner expressed sympathy with the aggrieved students and felt they had legitimate concerns.
Wagner said the incident provided the impetus for the university to implement “immediate refinements to certain policy and procedural deficiencies, regular and structured opportunities for difficult dialogues, a formal process to institutionalize identification, review and [the] addressing of social justice opportunities and issues and a commitment to an annual retreat to renew our efforts.”
The student government went further in its concern over the very, very troubling situation and issued a statement that gave credence to the notion the messages jeopardized campus safety. “[B]y nature of the fact that for a significant portion of our student population, the messages represent particularly bigoted opinions, policies, and rhetoric directed at populations represented at Emory University, we would like to express our concern regarding the values espoused by the messages displayed, and our sympathy for the pain experienced by members of our community,” the body’s Wednesday statement read.
Shoot, even Bill Maher can recognize these students for being pampered idiots.

Donald Trump Says He Would Stop Buying Oil From Saudi Arabia If They Don’t Fight ISIS and More

Mediaite.com:
American historians will definitely remember this as the week Donald Trump got tired of the constant criticism of his lack of foreign policy knowledge. The last straw came when he responded to questions about the identity of his consultants with, “I’m speaking with myself.” He eventually released a list of his foreign policy advisers and it still wasn’t good enough.
He agreed to a long-winded interview with The New York Times to clear up any confusion over this foreign policy plans. (Note that he has insulted the publication repeatedly.)
He repeated his standard line about Saddam Hussein being great at killing terrorists and Iraq being the Harvard of terrorism, then said, “By the way, bad guy, just so you know, officially, I want to say that, bad guy, but it was a lot better of situation than we have right now. And he did not knock down the World Trade Center, O.K.? So officially speaking, he did not, Iraq did not knock down the World Trade center.”

Ted Cruz ‘Affair’ Rumors Peddled by Marco Rubio’s Allies

TheDailyBeast.com:
The senator accused Donald Trump of planting a National Enquirer sex scandal story. If that’s true, Trump wasn’t the only Cruz opponent trying to traffic in smears.
If you enjoy daydreaming about Ted Cruz’s sex life, then today is your lucky day.
The National Enquirer alleged on March 23 that the senator has had five extramarital affairs. And the descriptions it provided of the women—along with barely-pixelated headshots of them—left little to D.C. insiders’ imaginations as to who the Enquirer had accused of being Cruz paramours.
“A HOOKER, A TEACHER & COWORKERS: 5 romps that will destroy Ted Cruz!” the Enquirer piece boldly claims, in an article that includes a wild “sex-in-closet” allegation.
Cruz fired back on Friday, charging that the piece was baseless and that the Enquirer was taking its marching orders straight from “Donald Trump and his henchmen.”

The truth behind the rumor-mongering, however, is a little more complex. A half-dozen GOP operatives and media figures tell The Daily Beast that Cruz’s opponents have been pushing charges of adultery for at least six months now—and that allies of former GOP presidential hopeful Marco Rubio were involved in spreading the smears.
For months and months, anti-Cruz operatives have pitched a variety of #CruzSexScandal stories to a host of prominent national publications, according to Republican operatives and media figures. The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg News, Politico, and ABC News—reporters at all those outlets heard some version of the Cruz-is-cheating story. None of them decided to run with rumors. Those publications’ representatives all declined to provide on-the-record comments when The Daily Beast reached out for this article.
How ironic. Now will the conservative Hate Trump crowd who are doing their all to make sure Hillary wins in November, come out and admit that Trump had absolutely nothing to do with this scandal? Of course not, because that's how bitter they are at Trump becoming the GOP nominee. Then too, will any of them condemn whoever it is that was behind the 'slut-shaming' of Trump's wife? Nah, hell will freeze over before that happens.

Donald Trump Responds to Ted Cruz, Offers No Apology for Tweet Insulting His Wife’s Looks

Mediaite.com:
Donald Trump tonight basically stood by his nasty attack on Heidi Cruz‘s looks while insisting this fight isn’t his fault.
Trump is still outraged over the ad used by an anti-Trump Super PAC featuring a photo from his wife’s nude photo shoot. That ad had nothing to do with Team Cruz and the Super PAC is not affiliated with Ted Cruz, so Trump is naturally convinced that Cruz is behind it.
Last night, he retweeted someone insulting Heidi Cruz’s looks, and Cruz blew up at Trump today, calling Trump a “sniveling coward” who needs to back off.
Trump tweeted this response:
Donald J. Trump ‎@realDonaldTrumpI didn't start the fight with Lyin'Ted Cruz over the GQ cover pic of Melania, he did. He knew the PAC was putting it out - hence, Lyin' Ted!

Jeb Bush Endorses Ted Cruz

HotAir.com:
What’s more surprising — Jeb Bush endorsing Ted Cruz, or Ted Cruz bragging about it? After winning Utah but losing Arizona, Team Cruz sent out a statement this morning announcing the backing of the one man who most embodied the Republican establishment against which Cruz has spent his term in the Senate fighting:
“Today, I am endorsing Ted Cruz for President,” said Bush. “Ted is a consistent, principled conservative who has demonstrated the ability to appeal to voters and win primary contests. Washington is broken, and the only way Republicans can hope to win back the White House and put our nation on a better path is to support a nominee who can articulate how conservative policies will help people rise up and reach their full potential.”
Bush continued, “For the sake of our party and country, we must move to overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought into the political arena, or we will certainly lose our chance to defeat the Democratic nominee and reverse President Obama’s failed policies. To win, Republicans need to make this election about proposing solutions to the many challenges we face, and I believe that we should vote for Ted as he will do just that.”
And for good measure, Bush posted a somewhat lengthier Facebook message urging Republicans to unite behind Cruz:
As I said from the moment I launched my presidential campaign, the stakes in 2016 couldn’t be higher.
Washington is broken, too many families are stuck in poverty and Western civilization is under attack from radical Islamic terrorists, as evidenced by the horrific attack in Brussels, which was preceded by attacks in Paris and California. …
Republicans can win back the White House and put our nation on a path to security and prosperity if we support a nominee who can unite our party and articulate how conservative policies will help people rise up and reach their full potential.

Hillary Clinton Wasn’t Always Against Profiling Muslims

HotAir.com:
There were two things which could be counted on following the horrible Islamic terror attacks in Belgium this week. One was that the world would come together in expressions of sympathy and grief for those who were lost and otherwise affected. The second was that it would be turned into a political football in the American elections before the smoke had cleared out of the Brussels metro stations. True to forum, the media dashed out to ask Ted Cruz and Donald Trump what we should do about the situation and both of them suggested keeping a closer eye on Muslim communities for signs of radicalization and impending attacks.
Anything that makes as much sense as that is obviously verboten in the mainstream media, so the hunt was on for anyone and everyone who would be willing to vilify the GOP contenders. They didn’t have to wait long for Hillary Clinton’s input, as she was quick to attack both of them following her victory rally in Arizona. (ABC News)
Hillary Clinton slammed Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz for his proposal to patrol U.S. Muslim neighborhoods as a plan to combat terrorism, in the wake of Tuesday’s attacks in Brussels.

“Ted Cruz, who said we need to be policing everywhere Muslims live. I don’t know about you; that is not only offensive that too is dangerous,” Clinton told the crowd at a rally in Seattle Tuesday shortly after declaring victory in the Arizona Democratic primary.
“Because we want everybody to feel together on our common defense against terrorism.
It’s funny how people will respond to a tragedy such as this. You never know what a candidate or elected official will say in the heat of the moment. That includes Clinton herself. In fact, she was asked a very similar question after the 9/11 attacks by ABC news anchor Sam Donaldson and her response back then was a bit less… nuanced. Let’s go to the video.

Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Rebukes Obama Administration For Using IRS To Target Conservative Groups

Mediaite.com:
Various Tea Party groups have been suing the IRS for unfair treatment in the application process for tax-exempt status. The case, United States of America v. NorCal Tea Party Patriots, et al, went before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, who ruled against the government on Tuesday.
The court’s decision raked the IRS over the coals for their actions, as well as the Department of Justice for how they’ve represented the IRS. The decision opened with a lengthy description of the actions the IRS took in targeting certain organizations seeking tax exemptions as non-profit organizations. Here are some highlights:
1. The IRS picked out groups by using politically-related search termsThey used search terms to identify applications from groups with the phrase “Tea Party” in their name. They later looked for other words, as well as policy positions such as “government spending,” or criticism on “how the country is being run.” The organizations that popped up from these searches were placed on a “Be On the Lookout” or BOLO list.
2. A special team handled the groups, making them jump through hoops, sometimes for years.“The BOLO list was sent to a specific team, and then the organizations on the list had to deal with significant delays and requests for unnecessary information,” according Inspector General’s report that court quoted. That report said that the IRS’s goal for processing applications for tax-exempt status in 2012 was 121 days, compared to the average time for applications from the BOLO list that year, which was 574 days.
3. The IRS asked for a ridiculous amount of information, and threatened to cancel their applications if they didn’t respond quicklyThe additional information that the BOLO list groups had to provide included donor lists, issues that were important to the groups as well as their positions on them, and whether any of the officers or directors had ever or will ever run for office, as well as their political affiliations. In the application of NorCal Tea Party Patriots, one of affected groups, they provided the information, and the 18 months later received a five-page request for even more information, including copies of newsletters and emails that they sent to members or the public, with a notice that if they didn’t comply with the request, their case would be closed.
As for the IRS’s response to the Inspector General’s initial report? They acknowledged that “mistakes were made” but said “centralization was warranted” for quality and consistency. Whatever that means.

Brussels Ran Ad Campaign Mocking the Notion of a Terrorist Attack Two Months Ago

Mediaite.com:
In an ad campaign that aired two months before Tuesday’s terrorist attacks, the tourism department of Brussels ridiculed the notion that the city was violent or prone to terrorist violence.
The city set up a series of phones that people could call from all around the world and have everyday people in Brussels answer. “Did you see some people who are fighting with guns or bombs?” one caller asks.
“No!” the person who answered the phone laughs. “Oh my god, no way!”
“After Brussels was linked to terror plots, the international media portrayed the city as a warzone,” the ad read. “We wanted to change this perception with an honest answer.”
“Is it safe for this moment?” another caller asks.
“Of course it’s safe, it’s very safe,” the Belgian answers.

NFL Threaten To Take Away Super Bowl From Atlanta Over Religious Freedom Bill

WaPo.com:
The NFL issued a stern warning Friday to the state of Georgia and the city of Atlanta, a reminder that if a “religious liberty” bill is signed into law by the governor, it could affect whether the city is chosen to host a Super Bowl.
The bill states that, with few exceptions, the government may not “substantially burden a person’s exercise of religion even if the burden results from a law, rule, regulation, ordinance or resolution of general applicability.” It would also protect faith-based groups from penalties if, in the absence of contracts, they refuse to provide “social, educational or charitable services that violate such faith-based organization’s sincerely held religious belief.” Those groups would also be protected if they chose not to hire an employee whose religious beliefs are in contrast with the organization’s.
The purpose of the bill, which has gone from the state legislature to the governor, is, according to one legislator, to provide a response to the Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage. The NFL joined hundreds of businesses in Georgia that see it as discriminatory.
“NFL policies emphasize tolerance and inclusiveness, and prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other improper standard,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Whether the laws and regulations of a state and local community are consistent with these policies would be one of many factors NFL owners may use to evaluate potential Super Bowl host sites.”
Although the NFL rarely is vocally involved in social and political issues, it has flexed its muscles from time to time. In 1990, it moved the Super Bowl from Arizona to the Rose Bowl in California because of Arizona’s refusal to recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a holiday.
So the NFL sides with heathens who want to keep the right to sue you and put you out of business for choosing God over their debauchery. And who said America would never become a fascist country?

Latina Donald Trump Supporter Harassed After Appearing Onstage With Candidate

Mediaite.com:
Betty Rivas, a Latina business owner in Tucson, Arizona and Donald Trump supporter, has been inundated with harassing phone calls and Facebook comments ever since she joined the candidate onstage at a rally in Arizona this week, waving a “Latinos Support D. Trump” sign.
Rivas, who co-owns Sammy’s Mexican Girl with her husband Jorge, has been the target of hateful comments, accusations of racism, and threats of a boycott, according to KGUN9.
The local outlet reports:
[Rivas is] shocked at all the controversy this sign has created because – she took a similiar sign to the Bernie Sanders rally in Tucson. That’s right – she has not even decided who she is going to vote for.
Despite all the drama though, Rivas does not regret making that sign and going on stage at all.
“I haven’t done anything wrong; I have the right to say what I’m thinking – I can go listen to Hillary, I can go listen to Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders because I’m within my right – I didn’t do anything wrong,” she said.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department visited the restaurant and now has an open investigation.

Wikileaks Drops Hillary Clinton Email Bomb That Could End Her Campaign but FB Censored It

TheAntiMedia.org:

On Wednesday, a major archive containing over 30,000 of Hillary Clinton’s emails was released. Though the State Department began releasing the emails in May last year — after a Freedom of Information Act request — it is the first time the messages have been made easily available in a searchable format, courtesy of WikiLeaks. Before the launch, the FBI was investigating the Democratic candidate’s use of a private server during her tenure as Secretary of State. The archive contains over 7,000 emails written by Clinton herself.
The scary, albeit fascinating exposé on who’s in bed with whom in the halls of global power has expanded to include Facebook, according to WikiLeaks. The organization has accused the social networking site of censorship, saying Facebook is blocking users’ access to the latest Clinton dispatch.
As a result of the outing, Twitter users are calling Clinton wicked, a thug, and a hypocrite. The released emails uncovered that the presidential frontrunner was instrumental in spreading chaos and extremism in Libya. They also revealed that she pushed for oil privatization in Mexico and forwarded emails claiming a Sunni-Shiite war would be good for Israel and the West.
Please tell me that the Trump campaign has already got a hold of this information and is going to use it before November.

Arizona Cop’s Pro-Trump, Anti-Protester Video Goes Viral: I Felt Safe With Trump Fans

Mediaite.com:
Even as the #SaferThanATrumpRally hashtag blows up on Twitter, at least one man is promoting a more positive view of Donald Trump’s rallies, and the supporters he encountered there. Tucson police officer Brandon Tatum attended a Trump rally this past weekend to try and make up his own mind about the candidate, and the video he made describing his experience there has gone viral on Facebook.
Tatum, a former supporter of Ben Carson, said he was shocked at the “verbally violent” protesters who he said treated him “like a criminal,” and that the Trump attendees were not initially adversarial with them.
“These people were the most hateful, evil people that I’ve ever seen,” Tatum said of the protesters, while he found the Trump supporters to be restrained. “I’m an African-American man,” he said, “and I had no problems with people there going against me or wanting to hurt me.”

Donald Trump at AIPAC: 'Obama May Be The Worst Thing To Ever Happen To Israel'

Townhall.com:
The Donald then attacked the utter weakness and incompetence of the United Nations, where he vowed as president, that he would veto any resolutions that he felt would endanger the Jewish state. He also said that the UN isn’t a friend of freedom, democracy, the U.S., and certainly not an ally of Israel. He later added that President Obama “may be the worst thing to ever happen to Israel.” He also mentioned how the president’s push for a solution between Israel and Palestine is a horrible deal:
With President Obama in his final year, discussions have been swirling about an attempt to bring a security council resolution on the terms of an eventual agreement between Israel and Palestine. Let me be clear: An agreement imposed by the UN would be a total and complete disaster. The United States must oppose this resolution and use the power of our veto. Why? Because that's not how you make a deal.
Deals are made when parties come to the table and negotiate. Each side must give up something it values in exchange for something it requires. A deal that imposes conditions on Israel and the Palestinian Authority will do nothing to bring peace. It will only further delegitimize Israel and it would reward Palestinian terrorism, because every day they are stabbing Israelis – and even Americans.
Just last week, American Taylor Allen Force, a West Point grad who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was murdered in the street by a knife-wielding Palestinian. You don't reward that behavior, you confront it!
It's not up the United Nations to impose a solution. The parties must negotiate a resolution themselves. The United States can be useful as a facilitator of negotiations, but no one should be telling Israel it must abide by some agreement made by others thousands of miles away that don't even really know what's happening.
Trump added that there is no moral equivalency between Israel and Palestine because the former doesn’t name public squares after terrorists; they don’t pay children to stab innocent people. Palestinians must end their culture of hatred against Israelis.

Actor Scott Baio Trends After Endorsing Donald Trump

CNN.com:
When Twitter users saw that actor Scott Baio was trending, some thought he had died or that a "Joanie Loves Chachi" remake was in the works.
The former "Happy Days" and "Charles in Charge" star was actually gaining notice for his politics rather than his work.
Baio endorsed Donald Trump for president during an appearance on Fox News' "Justice with Judge Jeanine" show Saturday, and his announcement began picking up steam on social media soon after.
Host Jeanine Pirro asked Baio to name his presidential pick.
"Trump," he said.
"It's very simple, because when he speaks I understand him," Baio explained. "He speaks like I speak. He communicates with people very well."
Baio said that in addition to Trump's straight talk, he likes that the businessman is a political outsider compared with the other Republican candidates.
"I'm fed up, I'm done with them, I'm done with the Republicans. They've lied and conned and BS'd me for a very long time now and I don't even consider myself Republican anymore. I'm a conservative independent."
Any wonder why more Hollywood conservatives are afraid to come out the closet?

Barack Obama Gives Bernie Sanders a Subtle Push Toward the Exit

Slate.com:
Hillary Clinton’s five-for-five sweep of this past Tuesday’s Democratic primaries turned her into her party’s presumptive nominee. President Obama, though, appears to have come to that conclusion even before voting began during the Super Tuesday sequel, via the New York Times:
In unusually candid remarks, President Obama privately told a group of Democratic donors last Friday that Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont was nearing the point at which his campaign against Hillary Clinton would end, and that the party must soon come together to back her. …
Mr. Obama chose his words carefully, and did not explicitly call on Mr. Sanders to quit the race, according to those in the room. Still, those in attendance said in interviews that they took his comments as a signal to Mr. Sanders that perpetuating his campaign, which is now an uphill climb, could only help the Republicans recapture the White House.
Obama has been careful not to explicitly endorse Clinton during the campaign, though there’s never been much doubt that he would choose his former secretary of state over Sanders if he were the one picking his own successor. Between that preference and Bernie’s willingness to critique the president’s record on the trail, Obama’s eagerness to close the book on a Democratic fight between an establishment candidate and a fiery outsider is hardly a shock.
For most Democratic hopefuls, a soft push to the door from the sitting president and standard-bearer of the party would be difficult to ignore. Bernie, though, is a special case given he only joined the party so he could run for the nomination. If the delegate math that has left him with no path to the nomination barring a catastrophic collapse from Clinton isn’t enough to force him from the race, the president’s words aren’t going to either.
This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. I'm still convinced that it was Obama who convinced Joe Biden not to run. They all feel it's Hillary's turn.

FOX News Quote of the Day!

"Donald Trump’s vitriolic attacks against Megyn Kelly and his extreme, sick obsession with her is beneath the dignity of a presidential candidate who wants to occupy the highest office in the land. Megyn is an exemplary journalist and one of the leading anchors in America — we’re extremely proud of her phenomenal work and continue to fully support her throughout every day of Trump’s endless barrage of crude and sexist verbal assaults. As the mother of three young children, with a successful law career and the second highest rated show in cable news, it’s especially deplorable for her to be repeatedly abused just for doing her job."

No, George W. Bush Did Not Lie Us Into War with Iraq

HotAir.com:
There is no small amount of irony in this argument coming up now. The Department of Defense and the intelligence community have active investigations looking into whether CENTCOM and other analysts have been cooking intelligence to make our anti-ISIS strategy look more successful than it truly is — and bury the threat of ISIS until it was too late. Warnings about cooked intel analyses went all the way to James Clapper, who apparently didn’t do much to correct the issue at the time.
However, several investigations have made clear that this was not the case with Iraq. Bush didn’t lie; he relied on bad intelligence amplified by the heightened concern after 9/11. The Saddam-WMD intel preceded Bush’s term in office, and Democrats before and after 9/11 offered the same warnings about Saddam’s intentions and his preparations. And while WMD was not found in bulk quantities, some undeclared chemical weapons actually were found by US forces after the invasion, as well as records that made clear that Saddam would reconstitute his WMD capabilities after the US and UK finally left.
On top of that, Saddam refused to comply with the terms of the 1991 cease-fire and 17 UN resolutions demanding his cooperation.
All of this has been known for a decade. Only conspiracy theorists and manipulative demagogues continue to claim that “Bush lied us into war in Iraq.” Consider it a self-identifying behavior and choose accordingly.

Rush Limbaugh Assures: Donald Trump Won’t Be Able to Get Away with Acting Like Obama in Office

Mediaite.com:
Rush Limbaugh assured a caller on his radio show today that even if Donald Trump ends up acting a lot like President Obama, it won’t matter because he won’t be able to get away with it.
Limbaugh has made it clear at this point he doesn’t quite share the concerns about The Donald many other conservatives do, and said that Obama’s been able to “get away with his authoritarianism” because Republicans have refused to actually oppose him.
“If Trump gets elected,” he argued, “you’re gonna see more unity between the Republicans and Democrats in stopping any Trump authoritarianism… because they’re gonna hate it, they’re gonna despise the guy.”
He practically cried, “Trump is not gonna be able to get away with Obamaism because Obama has a compliant Republican party!”

Barack Obama Skipping Nancy Reagan Funeral to Go to SXSW

It’s Now Sexist to Ask Hillary Clinton Not to Interrupt During a Debate

Mediaite.com:
I didn’t watch CNN’s Democratic debate Sunday: if I wanted to watch old white people yell at each other for two hours, I have The Expendables on DVD. But as best as I could tell from social media and angry thoughtpieces afterwards, Bernie Sanders said something deplorably and horribly sexist to his opponent Hillary Clinton.
“The moment looked bad for Sanders. He came off as a man shouting down a woman,” Vox weighed in. New York Magazine declared it “arguably sexist.” So what was it Sanders said that was so problematic?
Oh, it’s slightly worse in context of course; Sanders was pretty clearly irritated and not being polite. But that was only after Clinton interrupted him first.
I happen to agree with New York Magazine that the moment was “arguably” sexist, but only because there is no short supply of Internet warriors who will argue that any criticism of any prominent woman under any circumstance is sexist. Already, Hillary supporters have informed the media that words like “difficult” and “inaccessible,” and “polarizing, calculating, disingenuous, insincere, ambitious, inevitable, entitled, [and] over confident” are all now sexist when applied to Clinton. That these words are applied to male candidates every day is apparently besides the point.
Anyone who has watched any debate in the past twenty-odd years ought to know that interruptions are frequent, and that the interrupted candidate often speaks up for himself. Male candidates regularly talk over each other, jockey for speaking time, and get cross when they don’t get their way. To suddenly see it as “patronizing” and beyond the pale when applied to a woman is nothing more than a convenient double standard.
I’m sure there are Clinton supporters who would agree that Sanders has a right to call out another candidate when they interrupt, but just didn’t appreciate his tone or phrasing. There’s something to that; obviously you can voice a legitimate criticism in a way that’s still sexist (“Shut your mouth, you shrew,” e.g.).
But what exactly did they want him to say instead? If I were to recommend a way for his to reclaim his time, I would say start with something polite– “excuse me,” perhaps– followed by something that indicated that it was his turn to talk– maybe “I’m talking.”
Did he say it angrily? Of course he did, because he was interrupted literally seconds into his answer. I’d have to believe Clinton would have snapped at that, too. At the end of the day, Sanders had to interrupt Clinton, and there was nothing he was going to say or do that would contain the wrath of those see anything less than complete adulation of Clinton as inherently evil.
The real irony here is that it’s Clinton’s defenders who are actually reinforcing sexist stereotypes. By demanding special rules and that the media and fellow presidential candidates alike treat Hillary Clinton with kid’s gloves, they only encourage the perception that are women frail and unable to hang with the big boys. Clinton is a former Secretary of State and trial attorney who promises to stand up to Vladimir Putin and powerful Washington interests. But now we’re being told that she’s too much of a dainty flower to handle a gibe from a scrawny senior citizen.

Death and Taxes: Bernie Sanders Tax Plan Riddled With Trillions In Tax Increases

Townhall.com:
Yes, Sen. Bernie Sanders may have outright trounced Clinton (67/32) in the Kansas Democratic Caucuses, but let’s this be a friendly reminder to everyone that his economic agenda might as well be a suicide note for America. The self-described Democratic socialist has made no effort to hide that fact that he wants to tackle inequality, a corrupt campaign finance system, and provide health care for all. He has admitted that taxes for everyone would go up if he were to be elected president, but he hasn’t really mentioned how much. Maybe that’s because that figure soars into the trillions of dollars (via Politico):

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has proposed $15.3 trillion in tax increases, according to a new report, and would raise rates on virtually everyone, including the politically all-important middle class.

Not surprisingly for a candidate who has made income inequality his central issue, Sanders’s plan would wallop the rich, an analysis released Friday by the Tax Policy Center shows.

But Sanders, going where few politicians dare, would also raise taxes on middle- and low-income families, with those in the dead center of the income spectrum facing a $4,700 tax increase. That would reduce their after-tax incomes by 8.5 percent, the report said.

If You Support A Third Party Candidate To Dump Donald Trump, You’re Voting For Hillary Clinton

Townhall.com:
Conway, who fully disclosed that she was a Cruz backer, added that for conservatives, this is the election they have been waiting for for a long time. The question of electability is gone, and the candidates who were supposed to win have left the race. This also could be the year, where the GOP’s extensive political apparatus at the state and local level could yield some serious political dividends in the general elections. You have a nice bed of support when you control two-thirds of the governorships and have the most elected state lawmakers in office since 1920.

She added that turnout in the various GOP primary contests have reached record levels, people are willing to wait in line for long hours to cast their ballots, and enthusiasm is shooting through the stratosphere. It shows that voter engagement is high, and that people are paying attention. People are done with outside forces, the political establishment, the media, etc., telling them who to vote for in this election.

As for Hillary and the Democrats, Conway noted that the Democratic primary skewed towards women (58 female/42 percent male), while Republicans skewed towards men. Yet, she’s not afraid of Hillary. Male voters don’t trust Hillary–they certainly don’t like her–and that gap that Hillary has with male voters is just as serious as the GOP’s problem with single, urban-based women.

Now, what if Trump is the nominee? Will there be a third party challenge from the right? Interesting since the Republican Party spent countless time tying to persuade Trump not to do the exact same thing from the outset of his presidential bid. Barnes said that the party is opposed to abortion, mostly against the concept of gay marriage, so there isn’t a lot to detonate the party base unless Trump wins the nomination. He feels that conservatives will either not vote for him, back Hillary, or back a conservative third party bid. Schlapp expressed skepticism as to whether any serious conservative would vote for Hillary, but insinuated that a vote for a third party conservative could be viewed as a vote for Hillary.

In 1992, billionaire Ross Perot allowed Bill Clinton to beat President George H.W. Bush, nabbing 19 percent of the vote. Bush 41 views Perot as a spoiler who cost him the election–and to this day is still mad at him. Conway added that if Trump is the nominee, and Hillary wins the Democratic nomination, plus a third party challenger from the conservative orbit; it hands the election to Hillary. Full stop.
Damn right, anyone with a brain should bring up the name Russ Perot when an idiot Republican or conservative talks about broken conventions or 3rd Party runs just in case Donald Trump turns out to be the GOP nominee.

Former 1st Lady Nancy Reagan Dies At 94

CNN.com:
Former first lady Nancy Reagan, who joined her husband on a storybook journey from Hollywood to the White House, died Sunday.

She was 94.

Reagan died at her home in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure, according to her spokeswoman, Joanne Drake of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

"Mrs. Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died on June 5, 2004. Prior to the funeral service, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the library," Drake said in a statement.

The former first lady requested that contributions be made to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Foundation in lieu of flowers, the statement said.
I can still remember the ever graceful and poised Mrs. Reagan when she appeared on an episode of Differen't Strokes as part of her 'Jusy Say No' campaign back when I was a kid. For liberals who never believe in self-responsbility, her passing will be met with scorn, but for conservatives was nothing but a woman of great passion, loyalty and love/dedication to her husband. Condolences to the Reagan family for their loss.

NYPD To Stop Arresting People for Public Urination, Alcohol Consumption In Liberal Manhattan

WashingtonTimes.com:
Cyrus Vance Jr., the district attorney for New York County, said the maneuver will keep the court system from being “unnecessarily bogged down with minor offenses committed by those who pose no threat to public safety,” and instead will allow authorities to devote their resources toward enforcing and investigating serious crimes.

“By giving cops the discretion to issue summonses instead of requiring them to make arrests, we ensure they do not spend hours processing cases as minor as littering, and we enable officers to get back to patrolling, investigating and keeping our neighborhoods safe,” Mr. Vance said.

“And by reducing unnecessary incarceration, we make our criminal justice system fairer for all New Yorkers,” he added.

The decision will apply to infractions including public consumption of alcohol, public urination and various subway offenses, such as riding between train-cars and taking up more than one seat at a time.

Cross-Dressing Male Actor Mya Taylor Wins Best Supporting 'Female' Award

EW.com:
Tangerine star Mya Taylor made history on Saturday night at the Spirit Awards, becoming the first transgender actress to win a major film award.

“I have had a long journey through my 2015, because I had come from almost nothing. And then I got this role and this movie, and my life did a total 360,” Taylor said during her acceptance speech for best supporting actress, before joking that the trek up to the podium left her out of breath. “I feel fat,” she said to laughs from the crowd.

Directed by Sean Baker and shot using an iPhone, Tangerine was one of 2015’s breakout indies. The film stars Taylor and Kitana Kiki Rodriguez as a pair of friends who trek through Los Angeles on Christmas eve to find Rodriguez’s unfaithful boyfriend.

“The first thing I thought is this movie ain’t going to be sh–,” Taylor joked on Saturday about her initial reaction to hearing the film would be shot on an iPhone. “But it turned out amazing.”

Taylor closed her speech by making a plea to filmmakers to cast more transgender men and women. “There is transgender talent. There’s very beautiful transgender talent. So you better get out there and put it in your next movie,” she said.
Mya Taylor is not a woman and more women need to speak up and say so.

Male Texas College Student Sues Over Possible Expulsion For Alleged Sex Assault

FOXNews.com:
A physics major one semester away from graduation is suing to stop University of Texas-Austin from expelling him based on the unproven accusation he sexually assaulted a woman in a drunken, off-campus encounter.

In one of the latest cases of male college students turning to the courts after being punished by public universities for being accused of sexual assaults, the 21-year-old man identified as John Doe in legal papers claims the school is violating his Constitutional right to due process. His alleged victim, who did not attend the school, never filed a police report, according to his lawyer, yet the school took action based on her father’s complaint.

“What we’re seeing here is a nationwide movement that has gone too far in what the system sees as victims of campus assaults,” said Brian Roark. "Give us a fair hearing, and we'll deal with the consequences."

Doe, who claims the sex was consensual, is facing a disciplinary hearing that could result in his expulsion, The College Fix reported. He filed the suit about two months ago with the goal of clearing his name.

The alleged incident occurred on March 6, 2015, after a night of heavy drinking at a house party where Doe met two unnamed women, according to the lawsuit. The three spent the night at an off-campus apartment belonging to one of the women, where Doe had sex with one woman that night and the other the next morning, according to the lawsuit.
Blame radical feminism and the war on white, male college students by the Left. That's the idea now with these stupid and bias 'Yes means Yes' laws springing up on colleges everywhere, with the goal being to take away any ounce of self-responsibility for women engaging in sexual encounters and placing it all in the government's hands to state what happened without any sense of due process.

Ben Carson Doesn't See 'A Political Path Forward'

CNN.com:
Ben Carson doesn't "see a political path forward" in the Republican presidential nomination process, and will not attend Thursday's GOP presidential debate in his hometown of Detroit, he said in a statement.

But Carson stopped short of saying he was officially leaving the race.

The retired neurosurgeon and his aides reached the decision after a staff meeting Wednesday morning in Baltimore following a disappointing finish on Super Tuesday.

In an email to supporters, campaign chairman Bob Dees said the "political efforts must come to a close."

"We have often said that 'reality is our friend.' The reality is that we together have been on an amazing journey -- the right candidate for the right cause for the right reasons at the right time," Dees wrote.

"No doubt many of you have tears as you read this, just as I tearfully write these words -- tearfully because the reality is that our political efforts must come to a close," he added. "Gratefully, the grass roots movement that has given new voice to 'We the People' and has inspired millions will continue."

Carson said he will go into more detail during an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Committee Conference near Washington on Friday.
I've been said that Ben Carson was never going to be President. But if he's serious about making a difference in politics, either start speaking out around the country on how conservative policies can help Black America or run for a local congressman or Senator office.

Trump, Clinton Rack Up String of Super Tuesday Wins; Cruz Wins in Texas, Okla.; Sanders Wins in Vt., Okla.

FOXNews.com:
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton racked up a string of Super Tuesday primary victories, pulling well ahead of their rivals in the race for delegates – though their closest competitors, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and Bernie Sanders, notched enough wins or close seconds to keep the race alive.

With results still coming in, Trump is projected to win in Alabama, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Virginia. Clinton is projected to win Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Cruz, though, is projected to win the Republican primary in his home state of Texas, as well as in Oklahoma.

And on the Democratic side, Sanders was projected to notch a win in his home state of Vermont as well as in Oklahoma.

Texas was the biggest prize on the Super Tuesday map, offering 222 Democratic delegates and 155 Republican delegates. A win for Cruz was considered critical, and he was able to thwart any potential late-hour surge by Trump there.

Newt Gingrich Scolds Anti-Trumpers: Any Serious Republican Will Get Behind the Nominee to Beat Hillary

HotAir.com:
Said this before, but given his role in the 1994 conservative revival in Congress, the eventual Gingrich endorsement of Trump will cause the right much, much more grief than tough-guy opportunist Chris Christie’s has.
He blamed Marco Rubio for some of that mudslinging, saying the Florida senator’s personal attacks on Trump after last Thursday’s debate may have backfired. “I suspect it hurt Rubio,” Gingrich says. “Rubio’s not an attack dog. Chris Christie’s an attack dog. Christie knows how to do that, Rubio doesn’t. And Rubio ends up, I think, looking silly.”
Gingrich also chided Republicans suggesting they won’t get behind Trump should he win the nomination. “I believe when you’re faced with a choice with Clinton corruption, appointing radical judges with a disastrous foreign policy, it’s very hard for any serious Republican to not support the Republican nominee,” he told reporters.
By “serious Republican” I assume he means “serious conservative,” in which case he’s quite wrong. It’s easy for a serious conservative to walk away from a party led by Trump. The problem for anti-Trumpers is that the last eight months, and especially the month of February, were an extended lesson in just how few serious conservatives the party really has. And if all Newt means here is that some of the people crying “Never Trump!” right now will eventually suck it up and vote for him over Hillary in November, well, that’s true. Whatever gaudy numbers the polls show at the moment about a huge minority of Republicans refusing to vote for Trump in the general election will gradually erode under establishment pressure. Most Republican congressmen will fall in line behind Trump, if only because their donors are twisting their arms to do so. (Will there be donors pushing back the other way? Hmmmm.) Attack ads will remind the right repeatedly, for months on end, just how contemptible the Clintons are. Respected party elders, starting with Newt Gingrich, will be enlisted to cajole conservatives to come home. With the exception of Glenn Beck and possibly Mark Levin, the stars of conservative talk radio will align behind the nominee too. That’s a lot of cumulative persuasion. Some group of NeverTrumpers will continue to hold out, led by people like Ben Sasse and (almost inevitably) Mike Lee, but I’d bet on election day the total number who stay home and/or split for a third party is in single digits. People are tribal creatures, and starting a new tribe in the middle of an election is a heavy lift.

Even so, this is bad timing for Newt. Conservatives are still coping with Trump’s impending nomination, a process that will go on for months. Telling them on Super Tuesday, when the votes haven’t even been counted yet, to start thinking about falling in line for him won’t be well received. The next stage of coping comes tonight, when Trump’s win will be spun as not quite as overwhelming as it might have been and therefore Rubio remains kinda sorta viable in Florida. The next stage will come after Florida, when the coping will involve a mix of (a) half-hearted “Rubio can still come back, sort of” spinning of the dour outcome with (b) a push to have Cruz and Rubio (and Kasich) hang around and go to the convention in hopes of denying Trump the nomination in Cleveland.

WSJ: GOP Has ‘No Obligation’ To Entertain Democratic Demands On Judicial Nominations

Townhall.com:
With the passing of Justice Antonin Scalia, Senate Republicans were quick to declare that they would not confirm any Supreme Court nominee, as it should be the responsibility of the next president. Senate Democrats, of course, cried foul–until their dirty laundry was aired. Sen. Harry Red (D-NV) noted how difficult the political climate was for judicial nominees to be confirmed during an election year in 2008. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) even went so far as to say that the Senate should block any future Bush nominations to the Supreme Court in 2007. Even then-Sen. Barack Obama was part of the failed push to filibuster Samuel Alito’s nomination to the Supreme Court, which the White House says he now regrets.
Sen. Reid even penned an op-ed in the Washington Post about how this would be unprecedented obstructionism etc. etc., which no one should take seriously since Reid is out in January of 2017. He can literally say whatever he wants without any repercussions or consequences. Moreover, the Wall Street Journal editorial board compiled a “greatest hits” list from Senate Democrats on judicial nominations, which prominently feature Reid:
After blockading Mr. Bush’s judicial slate, Mr. Reid as Senate Majority Leader changed the rules for Mr. Obama’s nominees on a partisan vote. Senate rules require a two-thirds vote to change its rules in mid-session, but in 2013 Mr. Reid forced through a change solely with a narrow Democratic majority.
This allowed him to trigger the “nuclear option” lowering the Senate threshold for appellate but not Supreme Court nominees to 51 from 60. The goal was to pack the D.C. Circuit with left-leaning judges who would bless Mr. Obama’s abuses of power, especially on health care and climate regulation. Mr. Obama was cheering him on all the way.
Mr. Reid now argues that the Senate’s “constitutional duty” is to give nominees an up-or-down vote, but in a May 2005 speech on Mr. Bush’s judges, he offered a different interpretation: “The duties of the Senate are set forth in the U.S. Constitution. Nowhere in that document does it say the Senate has a duty to give Presidential appointees a vote. It says appointments shall be made with the advice and consent of the Senate. That is very different than saying every nominee receives a vote.”
It’s impossible to know what Mr. Reid really believes, because whatever he claims to believe at any moment is whatever will maximize his own political power.
The Journal also noted the egregious ethnically -based 28-month long filibuster of Miguel Estrada, a Bush appointee, who Democrats feared would be a prime Supreme Court nominee if he were confirmed to the D.C. Court of Appeals. Estrada would later withdraw his name from consideration. The GOP should hold the line, but as mentioned before, what happens when it looks as if Hillary is going to win the election, with a Democratic Senate, who could then fill that vacancy with a hard core liberal. It would complete the liberal America’s task of waiting for a time when they could yank the Court to the left. What’s the secondary protocol? Moreover, would GOP Senators go for hearing and possibly confirming a centrist Obama nominee, in which they would face the wrath of the party base? Then again, who knows what parade of horribles come from the legal Pandora’ box a Clinton nominee would most likely open.

Dying for Fame: 21 Reality Stars Committed Suicide in a Decade

NYPost.com:
In 2007, Gordon Ramsay ripped apart struggling New Jersey chef Joseph Cerniglia on “Kitchen Nightmares,” screaming: “Your business is about to f - - king swim down the Hudson.”
Three years later, Cerniglia jumped off the George Washington Bridge.

His shocking death was one of at least 21 reality-contestant suicides since 2004 — afflicting lesser-known programs such as “Storage Wars” as well as ratings mammoths like the “Bachelor” franchise, which has lost three former stars to suicide.

Insiders raise questions about the types of people attracted to these shows — and the screening process and support offered.

Dr. Richard Levak, a California-based personality expert who has worked on several reality shows, including “Survivor,” says the spate of suicides among reality-TV stars boils down to a chicken-or-the-egg debate.

“Does [appearing on reality television] attract people with a higher rate of instability?” Levak asks. “Are people who are unstable more interested? Or do the vagaries of reality TV precipitate people killing themselves?”

Two weeks ago, “The Bachelor” Season 14 contestant Alexa “Lex” McAllister, 31, became the latest fatality when she overdosed on prescription pills. Gia Allemand, from the same season, hanged herself in 2013. Three years earlier, 35-year-old Julien Hug, a 2009 “Bachelorette” contestant, shot himself in the head.

CNN’s Jake Tapper Thinks KKK Interview Flap Will Help Trump Win GOP Nomination

Mediaite.com:
CNN’s Jake Tapper conducted the Donald Trump interview yesterday where the GOP frontrunner refused to disavow support from ex-KKK leader David Duke, and he thinks the flap will actually help him.

Yesterday morning, Tapper repeatedly confronted Trump about that endorsement. Trump said he just doesn’t know enough about David Duke and the groups involved (the KKK) to make a judgment, telling Tapper he would have to look into it more.

On CNN this afternoon, Tapper told his guests, “I think that my interview with Donald Trump yesterday will actually help him win the nomination.”

Ramesh Ponnuru doubted that would be the case, despite the excuse-making from some.
