Cory Booker: Liberal Scumbag of the Week

Claim to Fame: Junior Democrat Senator from New Jersey:

Why He's the Liberal Scumbag of the Week: for mimicking crazy "Auntie" Maxine Waters with his threat to red-state Democrats this past week, referring to the possibility of any of them voting for Judge Brett Kavanaugh to be confirmed to the Supreme Court, said Booker: "You are either complicit to that evil, you are either contributing to a wrong or you are fighting against it."

That's right. A sitting United States senator drawing a moral equivalence between voting for a highly-qualified nominee to the Supreme Court and yunno, being evil.

Of course, with Democrats having little to no chance of stopping Kavanaugh from being seated on the highest Court in the land in a few months, one can somewhat understand Dems having to lower themselves to scare tactics, lies and hyperbole. But threatening and questioning the moral turpitude of colleagues from your own side of the aisle for possibly voting in a way you don't like? Well, that's just downright being a scumbag.

Business Insider: Liberal Scumbag of the Week

Claim to Fame: American financial and business news website founded in 2009 that also operates international editions worldwide.

Why It's the Liberal Scumbag of the Week: for removing an already-published piece by conservative writer Daniella Greenbaum that apparently offended some liberal colleagues.

The now-removed column, headlined “Scarlett Johansson is being unfairly criticized for doing her job after being cast as a transgender man,” played devil’s advocate to gay mafia members outraged that the famed actress was cast as a trans man in the upcoming movie “Rub and Tug.”

This despite the fact (as Johansson herself noted before she caved to the pressure and backed out the role a few days ago) that cisgender actresses like Hillary Swank received massive critical praise as well as an Oscar for playing a transgender woman in “Boys Don't Cry”. Then too is the fact that a well-accomplished, mainstream actress like Johansson would've brought plenty of attention to an otherwise secular film.

Worse than the fact that Greenbaum got her article retracted for daring to suggest (“The job of an actor is to represent someone else,” Greenbaum argued. “Johansson's identity off the screen is irrelevant to the identities she plays on the screen.”) that a woman could play a trans man in a film, was Business Insider reasoning their decision with the ultra-lame “did not meet our editorial standards" excuse. In other words, the website got so shook by the leeches in the Gay Mafia that its Editor-in-Chief Nich Carlson even went so far as to quickly issue a new protocol for columns, analysis, and opinion pieces that are deemed “culturally sensitive.” Right.

Good thing Greenbaum did the right thing and quit rather then continue to subject herself to possibly being censored for refusing to bow down to the ever-offended pricks on the Left.

“Unfortunately what happened with my piece—the tarring of a commonsensical view as somehow bigoted or not thought out; the capitulation of those who are supposed to be the adults to the mob” Greenbaum wrote in her resignation letter, “is a pattern happening all over the country within institutions that pride themselves on open-mindedness and liberalism.”

12 Russian Intel Officers Indicted in Special Counsel's Probe

Trump haters will play this up of course, but at the end of the day it means nothing as there's still zero evidence of Russia collusion, the DNC has still failed to turn over their servers and as Rosenstein noted, these hacking attempts didn't effect a single vote in the 2016 election.

Gordon Chang Quote of the Day!

"Trump has famously boasted of his new relationship with Kim. By now, the president has learned—or should have learned—that Kim rulers do not reciprocate friendly gestures. They perceive them as signs of weakness and then press the advantage. While Trump was toasting and complimenting the current Kim, his regime was increasing production of fissile material and continuing construction of missile facilities.

The only way to disarm North Korea is to give whoever is in charge—Kim or perhaps someone else—no choice but to give up weapons. That means, as a practical matter, imposing extremely high costs for stunts like the one he—or they—just pulled. The Wall Street Journal in late May reported that UN and U.S. sanctions cut the flow of international payments to Kim in half. That number could be reduced by, say, another 40 percent, with vigorous enforcement, including a blockade."

Michael Goodwin Quote of the Day!

"Because Democrats set the agenda for most media, the immediate talking point was that abortion rights are threatened with another GOP pick. While that is unlikely, given the Supremes’ traditional respect for precedent, the larger fact is that there is much more at stake than any single issue.

Consider that the travel-ban case upheld broad presidential authority on national security, and the union ruling was among several supporting First Amendment rights of individuals against government infringement.

Rulings like these have long-term cultural and political impacts and explain why Supreme Court appointments can have an outsized influence on a president’s legacy.

Already Neil Gorsuch, Trump’s first pick, is enormously popular with those who believe a justice’s job is to make sure laws pass constitutional muster, not legislate from the bench. A second pick in the Gorsuch mold would secure a majority on the court for curbing government’s appetite for more domestic power, perhaps for decades."

Trey Gowdy: Person of the Week

Claim to Fame: former federal prosecutor and current South Carolina Congressman

Why He's the Person of the Week: for criticizing Justice Department investigators for prolonging their investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and demanding an end to it. While Robert Mueller will undoubtedly NOT be ending his probe due to anything Gowdy says, it's still nice to see a sitting Congressman vent on an investigation that's gone on way too long, has shown clear bias from day one, continues to cast a gray cloud over the President's head and that most American's which to see end:
Support for special counsel Robert Mueller’s handling of the Russia investigation is shrinking, a new CNN poll reveals.
Forty-one percent of Americans now approve of the way he is running the probe, compared to 39 percent who disapprove. In March, 48 percent approved and 35 percent had disapproved.
Gowdy, who chairs the House Committee on Oversight, while speaking to FBI director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein during a tense House Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday, said:

“We’ve seen the bias, we need to see the evidence,” Gowdy, who chairs the House Committee on Oversight, told the officials. “If you have evidence of wrongdoing by any member of the Trump campaign, present it to the damn grand jury. If you have evidence that this president acted inappropriately, present it to the American people….Whatever you got, finish it the hell up. Right now this country is being torn apart.”
