Conservative Blogger Jim Hoft aka 'Gateway Pundit' Comes Out As Gay

In the wake of Sunday’s terrorist massacre at a homosexual nightclub in Orlando, Florida, a prominent conservative blogger is announcing to the public that he is “gay.” 

Jim Hoft, who runs the Gateway Pundit, made the disclosure in a post titled, “After the Pulse Club Massacre, It’s Time for Gays to Come Home to Republican Party.” 

“Like most gay Americans, I don’t wear my sexuality on my sleeve,” Hoft said. “I go about my daily business. I try not to harm anyone. I love my family. I love my friends. I love my country. I’ve been a conservative activist for years. But today I’m coming out as a conservative gay activist.” 

He added: “In the past few years I’ve built one of the most prominent conservative websites in America. I created the Gateway Pundit because I wanted to speak the truth. I wanted to expose the wickedness of the left. I was raised to love my country. Today I serve my country by defending her from the socialist onslaught. But last night at least 49 gays were slaughtered at an Orlando club.”

Another example of why if you're a social conservative, it's best to just belong to neither party and be independent.

Pope Francis Suggests: Donald Trump ‘Is Not Christian’

While speaking on Mexican-American border, Pope Francis said that Donald Trump was “not a Christian,” while declining to instruct Catholics not to vote for him.

“Can a good Catholic vote for this man?” a reporter asked him.

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” His Holiness responded. “This is not in the Gospel.”

“As far as what you said about whether I would advise to vote or not to vote, I am not going to get involved in that,” he said. “I say only that this man is not Christian if he said things like that. We must see if he said things in that way, and in this I give the benefit of the doubt.”

Trump responded almost immediately, interrupting a stump speech to give a response calling the Pope “a very political person.”

Actress Mayim Bialik: Hollywood Is Not Friendly to People of Faith

Mayim Bialik is best know for her role as "Blossom" on the NBC sitcom of the same name and as the quirky Amy Farrah Fowler on "The Big Bang Theory," but the 39-year-old is also known as a person of faith in Hollywood.

Bialik has consistently used her celebrity as a platform to support causes that are important to her and to share her message of modesty with her fans. At times that means upsetting a few people here and there.

Bialik, who is Jewish, recalled a recent trip to Israel that caused quite a stir on social media.

"I've gotten a lot of negative attention for visiting Israel," she told FOX411. She was visiting a friend in the Israel Defense Forces. "That’s what's amazing...simply by going to Israel this summer and saying nothing more than, 'I've gone to Israel,' I got the same amount of hatred and threats and anti-Semitism for actually making a statement trying to support people whether I like it or not are serving in an army."

She continued, "That reveals the truth. It really doesn’t matter what I support or believe the fact that I'm Jewish and go there is enough – that should be alarming to most people."

While the threats she received were from fans, Bialiak said the entertainment industry isn't friendly to people of faith either.

"I think in general it's never going to be trendy to be observant or religious in Hollywood circles," she said candidly. "There are people I know of faith and we tend to congregate together. I study Jewish texts weekly. That's something really positive to me when you're a person of faith, it stays with you all the time."

Confirming what most conservatives already know.

Actor John Rhys-Davies says Christianity Is Being Wiped Out

Perhaps John Rhys-Davies was channeling Gimli, his character from The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, because the Welsh actor delivered a soliloquy late Monday about good and evil and even warned of the end of days courtesy of radical Islamic terrorism and political correctness.

"There is an extraordinary silence in the West," said Rhys-Davies on Adam Carolla's podcast posted Monday night. "Basically, Christianity in the Middle East and in Africa is being wiped out — I mean not just ideologically but physically, and people are being enslaved and killed because they are Christians. And your country and my country are doing nothing about it."

Carolla elicited laughter from Rhys-Davies when he asked him when it became fashionable to refrain from judging outsiders.

"This notion that we've evolved into a species that's incapable of judging other groups and what they are doing, especially when it is beheading people or setting people on fire or throwing acid in the face of schoolgirls — I like that kind of judging. It's evolved!" said Carolla.

Carolla joked that if Bill Maher had a show during World War II, Americans would not have fought the Nazis because the comedian's guests would have been "screaming" about tolerance.

"This is a unique age. We don't want to be judgmental," said Rhys-Davies, who's also known for his role in the Indiana Jones franchise. "Every other age that has come before us has believed exactly the opposite. I mean, T.S. Eliot referred to 'the common pursuit of true judgment.' Yes. That's what it's about. Getting our judgments right."

Rhys-Davies was on Carolla's podcast — which has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's most popular podcast — to promote the DVD release of Return to the Hiding Place, a film about Jews in Holland during World War II that was directed and written by Peter C. Spencer, also a guest on Monday night's podcast.

"It's an age where politicians don't actually say what they believe," said Rhys-Davies. "They are afraid of being judged as being partisan. Heaven forbid that we should criticize people who, after all, share a different value system. 'But it's all relevant. It's all equally relative. We're all the same. And God and the devil, they're the same, aren't they, really? Right and wrong? It's really just two faces of the same coin,' " he said, mocking what he sees as politically correct doctrine.

"We have lost our moral compass completely, and, unless we find it, we're going to lose our civilization. I think we're going to lose Western European Christian civilization, anyway," said Rhys-Davies.

CNN Guest: ‘Christianity Is Under Attack’ in Duggar Reactions

Radio host Wayne Dupree said on CNN last night that “Christianity is under attack” in how lots of people have reacted to Josh Duggar‘s molestation confession.

He repeatedly told Don Lemon that the Duggar scandal has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity, in spite of certain pieces of commentary he’s seen to the contrary, even if the Duggars are “hiding behind it.”

Towards the end of the segment, Lemon told Dupree he was being “disingenuous and naive” to make those assertions. Dupree shot back that “Christianity is under attack” in all this because of how people are pointing to the Duggars and saying this is what happens when you’re raised in that kind of environment.

Montel Williams, who had some pretty choice words for Duggar last week, responded to Dupree’s comments on Facebook, agreeing that it shouldn’t be about Christianity but that it’s also “intellectually dishonest to pretend a large segment of the population, INCLUDING MANY CHRISTIANS are tired of people like the Duggars preaching misguided intolerance cloaked in piety.”

What do you call it when 12 men are drowned at sea for praying to Jesus?

Answer: Religious persecution. 

Yet, when a throng of Muslims threw a dozen Christians overboard a migrant ship traveling from Libya to Italy, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi missed the opportunity to label it as such. Standing next to President Obama at their joint news conference Friday, Renzi dismissed it as a one-off event and said, "The problem is not a problem of (a) clash of religions."

While the prime minister plunged his head into the sand, Italian authorities arrested and charged the Muslim migrants with "multiple aggravated murder motivated by religious hate," according to the BBC.

As Renzi was questioned about the incident, Obama was mute on the killings. He failed to interject any sense of outrage or even tepid concern for the targeting of Christians for their faith. If a Christian mob on a ship bound for Italy threw 12 Muslims to their death for praying to Allah, does anyone think the president would have been so disinterested? When three North Carolina Muslims were gunned down by a virulent atheist, Obama rightly spoke out against the horrifying killings. But he just can't seem to find any passion for the mass persecution of Middle Eastern Christians or the eradication of Christianity from its birthplace.

Religious persecution of Christians is rampant worldwide, as Pew has noted, but nowhere is it more prevalent than in the Middle East and Northern Africa, where followers of Jesus are the targets of religious cleansing. Pope Francis has repeatedly decried the persecution and begged the world for help, but it has had little impact. Western leaders — including Obama — will be remembered for their near silence as this human rights tragedy unfolded. The president's mumblings about the atrocities visited upon Christians (usually extracted after public outcry over his silence) are few and far between. And it will be hard to forget his lecturing of Christians at the National Prayer Breakfast about the centuries-old Crusades while Middle Eastern Christians were at that moment being harassed, driven from their homes, tortured and murdered for their faith. 

A week and a half after Obama's National Prayer Breakfast speech, 21 Coptic Christians were beheaded for being "people of the cross." Seven of the victims were former students of my friend and hero "Mama" Maggie Gobran, known as the "Mother Theresa of Cairo" for her work with the poorest of the poor. She told me these dear men grew up in rural Upper Egypt and had gone to Libya seeking work to support their families. They died with dignity as they called out to their God, while the cowardly murderers masked their faces.

Rather than hectoring Christians about their ancestors' misdeeds, Obama should honor these men and the countless Middle Eastern Christians persecuted before them.

Social Liberal POTUS Barack Obama Denounces ‘Less-than-Loving’ Christians at Easter Prayer Breakfast

Towards the end of his speech at Tuesday morning’s Easter Prayer Breakfast, President Barack Obama appeared to veer off script to make some comments that implicitly referenced the fierce debate that has been raging over the last week about “religious freedom” laws in Indiana, Arkansas and elsewhere. 

“On Easter, I do reflect on the fact that as a Christian, I am supposed to love,” Obama said. “And I have to say that sometimes when I listen to less-than-loving expressions by Christians, I get concerned.” As the crowd began to murmur, the president backed off, saying, “But that’s a topic for another day.”

“I was about to veer off,” he explained. “I’m pulling it back.” 

“Where there is injustice we defend the oppressed,” Obama said, returning to his prepared remarks. “Where there is disagreement, we treat each other with compassion and respect. Where there are differences, we find strength in our common humanity, knowing that we are all children of God.”

The moment drew the attention of Fox News, which played this section of the speech on air. “The divisiveness over some issues coming up, but not Christians under attack around the world,” Martha MacCallum noted, referring to the recent attack on a Kenya university that explicitly targeted Christians.
