Far-Left California Governor Jerry Brown Does Right Thing and Denies Charles Manson Follower Leslie Van Houten Parole

On Friday, Leslie Van Houten, the youngest follower of murderous cult leader Charles Manson who is serving a life sentence for killing a wealthy grocer and his wife more than 40 years ago, was denied parole by California Gov. Jerry Brown.
Put me in the "shocked" camp as considering uber-liberals fondness of giving criminals 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th chances, I thought for sure that Gov. Brown was going to release this murdering ingrate who's shown little, if any remorse for her infamous crime--well, even a brown clock is right twice a day, right? In the meantime, the hope here is that Leslie Van Houten dies in prison.

Black Lives Matter Movement Refuses To Endorse Any 2016 Presidential Candidate

TheGuardian.com:
The Black Lives Matter network will not give a presidential endorsement and will instead keep up its political activism by confronting candidates about the treatment of African Americans in the US, one of the group’s founders says.

In an interview, Alicia Garza discussed the organization’s refusal to settle on a preferred candidate in the 2016 race to succeed President Obama and pledged to press ahead with protests and interruptions during the campaign season.

“Sometimes you have to put a wrench in the gears to get people to listen,” said Garza, who spoke at the seventh annual Black Women’s Roundtable Policy Forum last week.

The Black Lives Matter movement traces its roots to the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida in 2012, and it gained national ground after 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, last summer.

Since then, deaths of other unarmed black males at the hands of law enforcement officers have inspired protests under the Black Lives Matter moniker.
Good for them. I've been saying for eons that if there's any group of people who should be independent, it's Black Americans.
