Will Ferrell Withdraws From Hollyweird Movie Playing Ronald Reagan with Dementia

PageSix.com:
The script was praised in Hollywood circles and was popular enough to draw actors such as James Brolin, John Cho and Lena Dunham to a reading last March, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
But it infuriated Reagan’s family, who called it stunningly insensitive.
“There’s nothing funny about Alzheimer’s. It is terrifying for the families of those who suffer from it. They live with the fear [of] what will change next, they have to live with this terror and grief every day. This movie is cruel, not just to my father, but to the millions of people who have the disease, and the millions more who care for them and watch them suffer every day,” Davis told Page Six Thursday.
On Friday, she cheered Ferrell’s move to ditch the project. “I am so relieved that Will has decided against this film. I can’t imagine that anybody else would sign onto it.”
“I’ve been deluged with letters and personal stories from people who are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s, and those who have just been diagnosed themselves.Itreally showed how widespread this disease is and how it just devastates families. It is beyond the pale that anyone would make it a comedy about it,” she added.
Her brother, Michael Reagan, echoed her praise. “Thank you for taking the right path,” he wrote on Twitter.
So many things out there maligning conservatism out there by the Left and they rally around this? Well, i guess when it comes to dissing their hero President Reagan, the Right just won't stand for it.

President Barack Obama will not attend Nancy Reagan‘s funeral this Friday, keeping his originally scheduled appearance as a keynote speaker at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive festival. First Lady Michelle Obama, who is scheduled to speak at SXSW on Wednesday, will attend the funeral.
“The president will not attend” Mrs. Reagan’s funeral, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Tuesday. “The president is actually traveling in Texas on Friday.”
The SXSW Interactive Festival is an annual symposium for digital startups and emerging technologies that takes place each year in Austin, Texas, concurrently with a film and music festival.

Former 1st Lady Nancy Reagan Dies At 94

CNN.com:
Former first lady Nancy Reagan, who joined her husband on a storybook journey from Hollywood to the White House, died Sunday.

She was 94.

Reagan died at her home in Los Angeles of congestive heart failure, according to her spokeswoman, Joanne Drake of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

"Mrs. Reagan will be buried at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California, next to her husband, Ronald Wilson Reagan, who died on June 5, 2004. Prior to the funeral service, there will be an opportunity for members of the public to pay their respects at the library," Drake said in a statement.

The former first lady requested that contributions be made to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Foundation in lieu of flowers, the statement said.
I can still remember the ever graceful and poised Mrs. Reagan when she appeared on an episode of Differen't Strokes as part of her 'Jusy Say No' campaign back when I was a kid. For liberals who never believe in self-responsbility, her passing will be met with scorn, but for conservatives was nothing but a woman of great passion, loyalty and love/dedication to her husband. Condolences to the Reagan family for their loss.

Bitter Columnist George Will: ‘Highest Priority’ of the GOP Should Be to Stop Trump

Mediaite.com:
Columnist George Will is so alarmed by Donald Trump‘s “comprehensive unpleasantness” doing well in the Republican primary that in his newest column, he just comes out and says stopping Trump needs to be conservatives’ highest priority.

Will asks at the top if there is anything remotely redeemable about this “fundamentally sad figure” who coasts on his “compulsive boasting” and need for others’ approval.

It seems like Trump’s sorta-embrace of Vladimir Putin (he snarks that maybe it was just a coincidence that dozens of Putin critics have ended up dead) was the last straw of sorts for Will. He said, ” Trump has forced conservatives to recognize their immediate priority.”

He understands how crucial it is for Republicans to win the White House and beat the Democrats, but as far as Will is concerned, “Conservatives’ highest priority now must be to prevent Trump from winning the Republican nomination in this, the GOP’s third epochal intraparty struggle in 104 years.”
What a bitter, bitter man. Of course, people in the know are aware that Will's wife served as an advisor to Scott Walker, who Trump repeatedly dissed during the campaign for the GOP nomination before Walker sadly dropped out the race. And there are other reason's that Will's hatred for Trump including the Donald's past ridicule of Ronald Reagan, long a hero to Will.
