Latina Donald Trump Supporter Harassed After Appearing Onstage With Candidate
Mediaite.com:
Betty Rivas, a Latina business owner in Tucson, Arizona and Donald Trump supporter, has been inundated with harassing phone calls and Facebook comments ever since she joined the candidate onstage at a rally in Arizona this week, waving a “Latinos Support D. Trump” sign.
Rivas, who co-owns Sammy’s Mexican Girl with her husband Jorge, has been the target of hateful comments, accusations of racism, and threats of a boycott, according to KGUN9.
The local outlet reports:
[Rivas is] shocked at all the controversy this sign has created because – she took a similiar sign to the Bernie Sanders rally in Tucson. That’s right – she has not even decided who she is going to vote for.
Despite all the drama though, Rivas does not regret making that sign and going on stage at all.
“I haven’t done anything wrong; I have the right to say what I’m thinking – I can go listen to Hillary, I can go listen to Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders because I’m within my right – I didn’t do anything wrong,” she said.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department visited the restaurant and now has an open investigation.RELATED: Do Trump’s Foreign Policy Advisers Really Matter?

In the United States, Latino Voters Lie Low
YahooNews.com:
Rios said she likes Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton."Never Donald Trump," she said of the top Republican candidate, pointing to his "way of thinking."But she admitted she does not know much about politics. And with enough trouble making ends meet, she said she has no time to devote to it.Year after year, political analysts herald the rise of the Hispanic vote. But the giant is lying low -- despite intense efforts by Democrats, and to a lesser extent Republicans, to mobilize it.Hispanics represent an electoral group seeing the fastest growth, in comparison to whites and African Americans. But abstention is much higher among them. Half did not cast ballots in 2012, compared to about a third of blacks and whites, according to the Pew Research Center.Concentrated in certain states such as Florida and Nevada, they are more or less ignored in a state like Iowa, which holds closely watched caucuses on Monday.
For the most part Latinos could care less about elections...unless it's one of their own. The biggest question the GOP should be concerned about is if a majority of Latinos will be motivated to come out to oppose a Trump candidacy, because you just know Hillary and the Democrat machine is gonna go extra hard after them if Trump turns out to be the Republican nominee.
