Facing a sharp backlash over his remarks in a recent TV interview, boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao has apologized for saying that people who are in gay relationships are "worse than animals."

Here's the famous boxer's apology:

"I'm sorry for hurting people by comparing homosexuals to animals. Please forgive me for those I've hurt. I still stand on my belief that I'm against same sex marriage because of what the Bible says, but I'm not condemning LGBT. I love you all with the love of the Lord. God Bless you all and I'm praying for you."

Outrage quickly grew in reaction to Pacquiao's comments in an interview that aired Monday night on the Philippines' TV5 network, in which he said it was a matter of "common sense" that animals don't have male-to-male or female-to-female relations. Carrying his idea a step further, Pacquiao said that if people engage in same-sex relations, then people "are worse than animals."

While it's a liberal myth that human beings are animals, Pacquiao's overall point about those who choose to engage in homosexual intimacy being 'worse than' animals was totally on point when you consider the wanton search for lust combined with the choice to label oneself a 'homosexual'. Pacquiao, who has long worn his Christianity on his sleeve, didn't need to apologize. He just needs to express his thoughts on why homosexuality is wrong and ungodly in a more educated fashion.

Vatican Sacks Gay Priest After Highly Public Coming Out

The Vatican on Saturday dismissed a Polish priest from his Holy See job after he came out as gay and called for changes in Catholic teachings against homosexual activity on the eve of a major Church meeting on the family.

Monsignor Krzysztof Charamsa, a theologian, had worked at the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican's doctrinal arm, since 2003, and taught theology at pontifical universities in Rome, which have also dismissed him.

Charamsa, 43, told Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper and Polish media that he was gay and had a partner. The Church teaches that homosexuality is not a sin but homosexual activity is, and priests, whether heterosexual or gay, take vows of celibacy.

Charasma followed up his media interviews with a packed news conference with his partner and gay activists at a Rome restaurant. They had planned a demonstration in front of the Vatican but changed the venue several hours before it was due to have started.

The Vatican said the dismissal had nothing to do with Charasma's reflections on his personal life, which it said "merit respect".

But it said his interviews and the planned demonstration was "grave and irresponsible" given their timing on the eve of a synod of bishops who will discuss family issues, including the Church's position on gays.

The Vatican said his actions were aimed at subjecting the synod, which Pope Francis opens on Sunday, to "undue media pressure". He presided at prayer vigil for the synod on Saturday night before tens of thousands of people in St Peter's Square.

At the news conference, Charamsa said he wanted to make "an enormous noise for the good of the Church" and apply "good Christian pressure" on the synod not to forget homosexual believers.

"This decision of mine to come out was a very personal one taken in a Catholic Church that is homophobic and very difficult and harsh (towards gays)," he said.

If the Vatican starts caving to the Gay Mafia, soon there will be no point in joining a church.

Vatican Confirms That Pope Francis Did Meet Privately with Kim Davis

Pope Francis met privately in Washington last week with Kim Davis, the county clerk in Kentucky who defied a court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, a Vatican spokesman confirmed on Wednesday.

Ms. Davis, the clerk in Rowan County, has been at the center of a nationwide controversy over whether government employees and private businesses have a legal right to refuse to serve same-sex couples. She spent five days in jail for disobeying a federal court order to issue the licenses.

On Tuesday night, her lawyer, Mathew D. Staver, said in a telephone interview that Ms. Davis and her husband, Joe, were sneaked into the Vatican Embassy by car on Thursday afternoon. Francis gave her rosaries and told her to “stay strong,” the lawyer said. The couple met for about 15 minutes with the pope, who was accompanied by security guards, aides and photographers. Mr. Staver said he expected to receive photographs of the meeting from the Vatican soon.

On Wednesday, the Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, confirmed that the meeting took place, but he declined to elaborate. “I do not deny that the meeting took place, but I have no other comments to add,” he said.

Ms. Davis described the meeting in an interview on Wednesday with ABC News.

“I put my hand out and he reached and he grabbed it, and I hugged him and he hugged me,” Ms. Davis said. “And he said, ‘Thank you for your courage.’ ”

“I was crying. I had tears coming out of my eyes,” she said. “I’m just a nobody, so it was really humbling to think he would want to meet or know me.”

Good for Kim Davis, the Rosa Parks of our generation and too bad for Godless liberals who've tried to stamp this Pope as some sort of 'progressive theologian' who's shown a willingness to compromise the Catholic doctrine for their morally bankrupt agenda.

Pope Francis: Goverment Workers Have ‘Human Right’ to Refuse Gay Marriage Licenses

In an interview with a gaggle of reporters, Pope Francis said government workers should have the right to refuse to issue gay marriage licenses if it was against their conscience.

“Conscientious objection must enter into every judicial structure because it is a right,” he said in Rome when asked about government employees like Kentucky clerk Kim Davis.

“I can’t have in mind all cases that can exist about conscientious objection, but yes, I can say that conscientious objection is a right that is a part of every human right,” he continued. “And if someone does not allow others to be a conscientious objector, he denies a right.”

10th Circuit to Little Sisters of the Poor: Comply with Contraception Mandate

Moments ago, in a departure from the U.S. Supreme Court’s protection of the Little Sisters of the Poor last year, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit ruled that the Little Sisters must comply with the government’s HHS mandate. This mandate forces religious ministries to violate their faith or pay massive IRS penalties (see video).

As Little Sisters of the Poor, we simply cannot choose between our care for the elderly poor and our faith. And we should not have to make that choice, because it violates our nation’s commitment to ensuring that people from diverse faiths can freely follow God’s calling in their lives. For over 175 years, we have served the neediest in society with love and dignity. All we ask is to be able to continue our religious vocation free from government intrusion.

The following statement can be attributed to Mark Rienzi, Senior Counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty and lead attorney for the Little Sisters of the Poor:

We’re disappointed with today’s decision. After losing repeatedly at the Supreme Court, the government continues its unrelenting pursuit of the Little Sisters of the Poor. It is a national embarrassment that the world’s most powerful government insists that, instead of providing contraceptives through its own existing exchanges and programs, it must crush the Little Sisters’ faith and force them to participate. Untold millions of people have managed to get contraceptives without involving nuns, and there is no reason the government cannot run its programs without hijacking the Little Sisters and their health plan.

The Tenth Circuit heard oral argument in this case December of last year, when for the first time since the case began, Sr. Loraine Marie Maguire, Mother Provincial of the Little Sisters of the Poor, delivered a public statement on the case (see statement here). 

Today the Tenth Circuit ruled that government can force the Little Sisters to either violate their faith or pay massive IRS penalties. The court held that participating in the government’s contraception delivery scheme is “as easy as obtaining a parade permit, filing a simple tax for, or registering to vote” and that although the Sisters sincerely believe that participating in the scheme “make[s] them complicit in the overall delivery scheme,” the court “ultimately rejects the merits of this claim,” because the court believes the scheme relieves [the Little Sisters] from complicity.”

The Episcopal Church Voted to Allow Gay Marriages

Yesterday, the Episcopal Church voted to allow their clergy to perform same-sex marriages in the church, but it didn’t come without a heated debate.

It ended in a compromise that has both the liberal and conservative wings of the church slightly unsatisfied, but the bottom line is that a church has stated, explicitly, that it will allow same-sex marriages to be performed with its full blessing. It’s a triumph of the First Amendment, even as the term “religious freedom” because a buzzword for conservatives to mask discrimination against the LGBT community: the Episcopal Church choosing on its own to debate and hold a vote, and then compromise on an agreement, is the truest expression of religious freedom.

Of course, it’s not an across-the-board, mandatory order for all clergy to perform same-sex marriages even if they don’t want to. If a city’s diocese doesn’t want to allow the marriages, they can opt out. Further, if a bishop doesn’t want the ceremonies, he could forbid his clergy from performing them. This is where the liberal Episcopalian bishops bristled, basically saying that if the church is going to give its blessing to same-sex marriages, the whole entire church should follow suit. The conservatives who wanted the opt out were thankful for the compromise, but those clergy who don’t want to perform ceremonies had to pass a couple on to someone who would accommodate them. 

Same-sex marriages can take place in the Episcopal Church — in the churches that elect to allow them — on November 1. 

No surprise here. Starting with their acceptance of gay priests some years ago, no religion has become more liberal than the Episcopalian church--any wonder their losing longtime members in record fashion.

The Need For Religious Freedom Acts In All 50 States

The dilemma Christians and conservatives face after the Supreme Court's made-up-from-whole-cloth-instead-of-the-Constitution ruling on gay marriage is one that Machiavelli described over 500 years ago.

“And what physicians say about disease is applicable here: that at the beginning a disease is easy to cure but difficult to diagnose; but as time passes, not having been treated or recognized at the outset, it becomes easy to diagnose but difficult to cure. The same thing occurs in affairs of state; for by recognizing from afar the diseases that are spreading in the state (which is a gift given only to a prudent ruler), they can be cured quickly; but when they are not recognized and are left to grow to the extent that everyone recognizes them, there is no longer any cure.” 

Too many conservatives have refused to stand up on social issues and have thus allowed liberals to make their case in a vacuum. Too many churches have decided they’d rather keep their heads down than stand up for Christian beliefs. Too many Republicans have played by Marquis of Queensbury rules when it comes to Supreme Court justices while Democrats have played to win. You’ll note that liberal judges always, always, always vote liberally on key issues, regardless of the law, while some “conservative” justices like John Roberts and Anthony “Captain Coin Flip” Kennedy move to the left, even if they have to defy the Constitution to do it. 

Of course, all of that is water under the bridge and the majority of states in the country, which didn’t vote for gay marriage, have had it thrust upon them unwillingly by tyrants in black robes. 

As a response to this, some Republicans have called for term limits for the Supreme Court. Ted Cruz has called for justices to have to face the voters every 8 years. Scott Walker has called for a constitutional amendment to roll back the Supreme Court’s decision.

We should be pushing for religious freedom acts in all 50 states. Thirty one states currently have at least SOME RELIGIOUS PROTECTIONS. That needs to become an issue in EVERY state because this ruling means the Left is about to start engaging in open warfare on Christians. 

They’re going to go after the tax status of Christian churches. They’re going to try to get Christians fired from their jobs. They’re going to try to censor Christians at best and define parts of Christian doctrine as hate speech at worst. They’re going to try to use the government to put Christians who refuse to sin by working on gay marriages out of business. 

Since when do Christians lose their First Amendment rights if they start a business? Since when does “freedom of religion” only apply as long as you don’t own a bakery or take wedding photos? This is a country founded on religious freedom and those rights don’t cease the moment someone walks out of the church doors. 

We need these laws to keep Christians from being persecuted. The anti-Christian Left can get awfully loud, but polls consistently show that the American people agree by large margins that Christians shouldn’t be legally penalized for refusing to cater gay weddings.

This idea sounds more reasonable as well as practical, but it's naive to think the Godless Left would want to compromise...even after they've won.

Bakery That Refused to Bake Cake With Gay Slogan Loses N. Ireland Case

Everyone loves Bert and Ernie, right? So what could be controversial about going to a bakery and ordering up a Bert and Ernie cake?

Well, plenty, if the cake is supposed to bear -- in addition to the depictions of the two "Sesame Street" characters -- the inscription "Support Gay Marriage."

That is the kind of cake that gay rights activist Gareth Lee ordered in greater Belfast, Northern Ireland, in May 2014 for a function marking the International Day Against Homophobia. 

But Lee ordered the cake from the Christian-owned Ashers Baking Co., which refused on the grounds that baking it would conflict with the religious beliefs of the bakery's owners.

Or, as Bert would say, "Yes I do mind!"

Lee, offended, sued. 

And on Tuesday, Ashers was found guilty in Belfast County Court of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. The judge said Ashers was a "business for profit" and not a religious group and, while the owners had "genuine, deeply held religious views," they were not above the law.

Lee had testified that being refused service "left him feeling like a lesser person." The court awarded him £500 ($775) in damages. 

Of course, the case had long since grown into something larger than a simple dispute between a company and a customer.

Lee was supported in his lawsuit by the state-funded Northern Ireland Equality Commission, which has reportedly spent almost £40,000 ($62,000) on the case so far.

And the bakery was backed by the Christian Institute, which says on its website that it exists for "the furtherance and promotion of the Christian religion in the United Kingdom" and "the advancement of education."

Tuesday's decision can be appealed to a higher court. And Asher's general manger, Daniel McArthur, said it would be.

He said the bakery never had an issue with Lee, did not know his sexual orientation and would happily serve everyone. 

The issue, McArthur said, was with the cake.

"The ruling suggests that all business owners will have to be willing to promote any cause or campaign no matter how much they disagree with it," he said.

Not satisfied with gov't sanctioned "rights' based on the act of homosexuality, the Godless Gay Mafia wants to force Christians to choose between their faith and outright sin. It's who they are, it's what their agenda is really about.

Jeb Bush: No Constitutional Right to Same-Sex Marriage

Speaking to The Brody File Sunday, 2016 hopeful Jeb Bush said he did not believe marriage equality was a constitutional right, and said opposition should continue regardless of the much-anticipated Supreme Court ruling on the issue due this spring.

“I think traditional marriage is a sacrament,” Bush said. “To imagine how we are going to succeed in our country unless we have committed family life, committed child-centered family system is hard to imagine. So, irrespective of the Supreme Court ruling because they are going to decide whatever they decide, I don’t know what they are going to do, we need to be stalwart supporters of traditional marriage.”

“Thousands of years of culture and history are being changed at warp speed,” Bush said. “It’s hard to fathom why it is this way.”

Bush pointed out that President Barack Obama and Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton both held the same view as of four years ago. Obama came out in favor of same-sex marriage in 2012, while Clinton recently endorsed it as a constitutional right.

As for Jeb, he shrugged his shoulders recently at a court decision to allow the practice in his home state of Florida. The candidate sounded far more convicted in the interview.
