Claim to Fame: longtime singer, songwriter, actress, comedian, film producer and liberal provocateur
Why She's the Liberal Scumbag of the Week: for tweeting then deleting gratitude towards the neighbor who ‘Beat the Sh*t’ out of Senator Rand Paul in 2017 over a neighborhood dispute over a fence. The attack by Paul's neighbor, Rene Boucher, was so vicious that it left Paul with broken bones and resulted in part of his lung being removed. But that doesn't matter to scumbags like Midler who was upset after Paul dared to call Kurds 'ingrates' for not wanting aid from U.S. troops on a podcast.
Although the tweet was deleted, the actress tweeted no correction, apology, or explanation. Some of the positive replies to her tweet are still there, however.
Midler has had to delete tweets from her extremely political Twitter timeline before, including a crack last year about someone stabbing President Trump. In both cases, Midler faced little to no criticism or pushback from the media.
