Mediaite.com:
After his repeated swipes on “New York values,” Ted Cruz yesterday offered an apology to New Yorkers… “who have been let down by liberal politicians.”
Yes, Cruz has been criticized by everyone from Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton for going after the culture of New York, but in comments to reporters yesterday, Cruz stood firm and made his point by bringing up financial burdens being put on New Yorkers, along with social conservatives being told they’re not welcome in the state.
He apologized to “millions of unborn children” in New York, black children “Mayor de Blasio tried to throw out of their charter schools,” people “ridiculed and insulted by the New York media,” and the law enforcement officers who feel their city’s mayor “stands with the looters and criminals rather than the brave men and women of the law.”
Essentially, it was a “sorry not sorry” moment.Good for Ted Cruz. A social conservative should never apologize for being true to their principles.
